Academic members from our Institutional partners manage the individuals who are granted access to BEST Network tools and services under their account. If you are using, have used previously or will use Slice or Brainstorm in your classes and are having trouble gaining access please review the following for advice on resolving your access issue.

I don't know what my password is, or I haven't received a welcome email/password reset email

If you held a BEST Network account prior to 2021, you may not have received notification that you need to reset your password in order to regain access to your account.

Alternatively you may have been registered recently but cannot locate your welcome email/password reset email or you cannot remember your password.

Please contact us using the Submit Help Request button at the top of the page. Please provide us with information including your institution, email address and role (faculty or student) and we will be in touch to resolve your access issue.

I'm not sure which email address I should be using to log in

We encourage institutions to register their students with an institutional email address rather than a personal email. However, personal emails are also accepted. Many institutions utilise alias email address and different resources may require you to use a different alias of your email address. We understand that this may be confusing.

When your access was granted, an email would have been sent to you from communications@best.edu.au noting your email address and including a temporary password or verification code and instructions for gaining access to your account.

We recommend searching your inbox and any other subfolders for an email from communications@best.edu.au to locate this information.

If you are having difficulty locating this email and the password reset steps mentioned above don't work for you, please contact us using the Submit a help request button at the top of the page with information regarding your full name, institution, email address and any possibly alias emails that might have been registered. We will be in contact to resolve your access issue.

How do I get access if my institution is a member?

Access for both faculty members and students is managed by representatives from our Institutional partners using the Account Management tool.

If you are a student from a BEST Network member institution using Slice or Brainstorm in your class, please contact your lecturer or course co-ordinator regarding access.

If you are a faculty member from a BEST Network member institution and you would like to be given access and aren't sure who to ask, you are welcome to contact us using the Submit a help request button at the top of the page with information regarding your institution and desired use.

I used to have access but now I'm getting a message about being deactivated. How can I gain access again?

BEST Network Institutional partners have subscribed on various membership plans covering different numbers of staff and students depending on their intended use. Following the completion of the subject or course which you used Slice or Brainstorm for, your account may have been deactivated. If you believe this is in error, please contact your course or subject co-ordinator and they can reactivate your account.

If you have left your institution and your account was deactivated but you wish to take up student membership to continue your access, please contact us using the Submit a help request button at the top of the page with information including your previous email address and intention to purchase student membership.
